Policija uzskata, ka notikušajā citas personas nav iesaistītas.
Incidents noticis Parāžu laukumā pilsētas centrā, kur šobrīd atrodas karnevāla sezonas tirdziņš.

Aculiecinieki stāsta, ka automašīna lielā ātrumā drāzusies pa Manheimas galveno iepirkšanās ielu (Planken), kas ved gar parāžu laukumu, kur tā notriekusi dažus garāmgājējus.
Manheima, kuras iedzīvotāju skaits sasniedz aptuveni 320 000, atrodas apmēram 80 kilometrus uz dienvidiem no Frankfurtes.
